The recently opened Maison de l’enfance et de l’adolescence (MEA), meaning “House of Childhood and Adolescence”, is part of the Geneva University Hospital. It provides mental health care for patients from birth to 18 or 25 years of age, with inpatient and outpatient programmes. The very concept of the MEA incorporates culture and several disciplines, including the visual arts, film and theatre, among other activities. Aiming to open up the psychiatric hospital, the Fondation Convergences, which is attached to the MEA, offers a year-round cultural programme that is open to patients, healthcare professionals and other MEA employees, and the general public, especially local residents. #annshelton #iamanoldphenomenon
